August 31, 2010 at 1:30 am | Posted in Cruiser Recaps | Leave a commentThe first day of my last weekend started at Staples in New Minas for their 5th annual school supply drive, this year partnering up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Annapolis Valley to have already raised $1300 in cash and supplies by the time I dropped by.
The drive is still going on until university kids like me are back in school so everyone’s covered (late next week – Acadia starts Wednesday).
I was on more charity BBQ duty later, with the Red Cross going at Walmart and Miss Kentville International Amanda Walker having hers at Boston Pizza.
It was then time for the County Fair Mall back-to-school fashion show – as host I got a 20-minute teeth whitening at QuikSmiles (I could even read my scripts while getting it done!) clothes from Zebians and music from CD Plus that I ran off this laptop I am blogging on.
When the show started a crowd had already gathered around Centre Court and it was pretty packed – they heard me stumble over a few fashion terms but overall it went really well and the nine stores represented got their fall looks presented for potential buyers.
